Seoul lebt nachts. Es sind unglaublich viele Menschen unterwegs, nicht nur am Wochenende, sondern immer. Wenn ich morgens um 8 Uhr in ein Café möchte um zu zeichnen, dann muss ich in ein 24 Stunden-Café weil alle anderen nicht vor 10 Uhr öffnen, dafür kann man aber bis um 12 oder 1 Uhr nachts dort sitzen (und dabei haben die nicht mal eine Abends-speisekarte oder so, es gibt immer nur Kaffe, Bingsu, eventuell Waffeln und andere Kleinigkeiten). Ich bin gestern nach 2 Uhr nachts aus dem Studio nach Hause gelaufen, da muss man an einem Sportplatz vorbei. Um 2 Uhr nachts waren da High-School Schüler und haben gekickt. Verrückt, oder ?!
Seoul is just so much more alive at night. So many ppl out n' about, not only on weekends but all the time. Whenever I want to go to a cafè at like 8 am to draw, I have to go to one of the 24/7 places because everything else never opens befor 10 am. But you can stay everywhere till 12 at night or later even though they don't serve food, only coffee and the usual stuff (bingsu, waffles, and others). Yesterday I stayed at the studio until after 2 am and when I walked home there were high school students playing soccer. Crazy?!
Die Gegend in der ich wohne hat ein reges Nachtleben, weil sich ein BBQ-Restaurant ans andere reiht und es extrem viele "Trink-Restaurants" gibt. In den "Trink-Restaurants" wird gegessen und nebenbei ordentlich gebechert. Aber nur trinken geht nicht, es wird erwartet, dass man wenigstens einen Chon (Koreanische Pizza) oder andere Kleinigkeit auf dem Tisch hat. Where I life is a area with lots of night life, the quiet kind of nightlife. Lots of BBQ restaurants and a lot of drinking places. The Korean kind of drinking places where you have to oder food with your drinks. I just found a photo-blog blackoutkorea that describes Korean drinking habits pretty well.

Ein weiteres Highlight der Nacht ist Dongdaemun-Shopping-Area. Die machen so gegen 10 Uhr morgens auf, die meisten, manche aber auch erst um 8 Uhr abends, schließlich kann bis 5 Uhr morgens geshoppt werden. Und da beschwert sich einer das die Koreaner so eine krasse Konsumgesellschaft entwickelt haben...
Another highlight at night is the Dongdaemun shopping area. Most stores open at like 10 am but some start at 8 pm because they close at around 5 am. Pretty rad! So no wonder Korea has a really over-developed consume society, they want the ppl to shop around the clock!

Mir gefällt diese koreanische Lebensweise, immer raus aus den eigenen 4 Wänden und auf die Straße. Es passiert so viel draußen, so viel Dynamik die man fühlen kann wenn man einfach nur da steht. Ich wünschte in Deutschland wären die Straßen belebter.
I love how Koreans are always out on the street. There is just so much going on outside, I wish Germany was more like this. Just go out and feel the cities heartbeat.
