Hongdae Free Market

Since I had some complaints from friends about not being able to read the blog, because it's all German, I'll try to have it in both languages. It takes me like 2 hours to write one blog post, and now probably twice as much, but I'll try hard to keep the 2-languages system up for you :)

I missed the party last night because I fell asleep during some studying, at about 6 o'clock, and didnt wake up for 4 hours. But since I wasn't feeling good it was best to stay at home, surf the internet for more fun things to do in Seoul and stay up till 4am just for the fun of it...

Start in den Tag: Sonnenbrille (endlich auch in Seoul erste Frühlingstemperaturen), Frühstück, Kaffee, Masterplan der Stadt Sejong, Moleskine.
Starting my day with sunglasses (finally nice weather here!), breakfast + coffee, my papers I have to read till Monday, Moleskine.

At 2 pm we (Rosa, Nina, I) went to Hongdae Free Market and around the Hongdae area.

Crazy, I think. This is so hard to combine without looking like a granny or out of a Jane Austen book... Korean style is way to "cute/romantic" for me... don't like being the cute girly girl. Need some edgy-ness.

Still impressed by the plastic food displays. They put so much effort into making these.

Lunch.

Pie with meat-cheese-stuffing. Definitly NOT having this again. I had such a hard time finding the meat between all the weird jello-sauce.

You can't escape from the Prezels. Not even on the other side of the world.

BEST donut shop in the world (anybody ever thought about the origin of the word donut/doughnut? Where are the nuts in the dough nowadays?). You can watch them make the donuts from the window, they are warm, tasty, not too sweet and not as greasy as the dunkin donuts or krispy cream ones. I'm not a fan of donuts, they just taste like fat. Oily, greasy, heavy, just not good. But those were so light, fluffy and actually had a taste. There was a lady outside, with a tray full of little pieses. So she made us try some. 10 Seconds later we were inside of the haradonuts cafè :)

Kleine Raupe Nimmersatt.
The very hungry caterpillar. Eats and eats and eats. One day she becomes really round, makes a Cocon and becomes a beautiful butterfly.
The very hungry Sarah. Eats and eats and eats. One day she becomes really round and bursts. End of story.

(Eins der Bücher hatte den Titel "Design, the conjunction of art with business".
I love the interior of this place. It's made so, so amazingly adorable. Not adorable in a cute way but in a minimalistic tidy way that would still make you feel comfy. L O V E. And I was quite impressed by the well-assorted book section with books on design. (One said "Design, the conjunction of art with business", never thought about it in this way, like designers are smart artists making the most out of their art.) When I'm done with my intense-Korean-language-course, I expect myself to be able to read those books. I checked them, it's not only pictures, there was a lot of text ;-)

The day started so sunny, but in the afternoon it became cloudy and kinda chilly in my light jacket.

Free Market Hongdae, every Saturday 13:00-18:00.

Selfmade goodies by students and artists. There was even a little performance show where people sang and played the guitar. Really nice.

Those eyewear-shops! There are too many around here. To bad I only fell in love with the 300€ Karen Walker sunglasses. And two models of glasses around 400€ each, of the designer Kio Yamato. Never heard of him, but he had really amazing ones, definitely need to google him. So, we just had fun with the less pricy versions.

Having dinner at home. The to-go chicken I got was really tasty. The baguette was lame, most bread is horrible here. I should have toasted it... Next time.

The End.

Btw, trying to find a good way of making english under german work design-wise. Not quite  happy the way it is now. Any suggestions how to make it look better and more readable?

Super Blog! Weiter so :)
I am not sure if the homepage translation of google is doing the job well enough for your purpose. The English reader might have a try: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=de&sl=de&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Ftheseoulista.blogspot.de%2F
