Bukchon Village

Last Sunday we made a little trip to Bukchon Village, a neighborhood with korean traditional houses. SInce people actually live there its more interesting than just the museums we have been too. But it's still a touristy place. They have a lot of little shops with selfmade craft things. And really cute cafès and guesthouses where you can experience the traditional living.

Pottery. But we also saw wood shops, small galleries and jewellery making shops.

To bad they don't have some standard to have only traditional architecture when new houses are built in this area.

We got a map from the tourist information center. There was a route marked which way to go to see all the important things around the village. The 11 Views of Bukchon are a must see.

Die Schule war auch auf der Attraktions-Liste.
This school was also on the list of most important sights.

We went into this privat gallery. It was only 3000 won and we got a cup of tea and could look at traditional paintings in a traditional decorated room.

Sarah and Rosa came with me. Nina and Anna weren't interested and went ahead. Sadly I didn't see them for the rest of the day, bit that's another story...

Wir sehen kaum müde aus ;-)
We kinda look like we didn't sleep much. Well we didn't.

Eine der 11 Aussichten.
One of the 11 Views.

Seoul can be really carming, even with this load of wires hanging around. But in this area they really ruin the view.

Couldn't even take a picture of the biggest palast of the city because of all the wire stuff going on.

Heiß und fettig, und HEIß! Pfannkuchen mit Sirupfüllung.
Hot and greasy. By hot I mean HOT HOT HOT. Fried and filled with boiling sirup.

Naked Museum.
Naked Museum. Don't you love the creative way of covering her up with trees with plastic leaves?!

So the thing about girls and orientation is obviously NOT true. Still we could not meet Nina and Anna again because first we went into the wrong direction and then we went way over the actual meeting point. So we gave up, had some Falafel, went home and worked on the research we had to do for urban design.
